  • A multi-day, marathon reading of Gertrude Stein’s 1925, 900-page “novel” The Making of Americans.  An added dimension to the event involved the gradual destruction of Stein’s monumental book, with each page, once completed, immediately run through an adjacent shredder (or burned in a fire pit).

Fall 2022
  • Olivia Block, media artist and composer (Chicago). The world premiere of her new surround sound concert, at Sun-Ray Cinema, "Breach."
  • Jaap Blonk, sound poet and visual artist (The Netherlands). An evening performance at Sun-Ray Cinema.
  • Bill Brown, media artist and filmmaker (UNC-Chapel Hill). An evening screening of his films at Sun-Ray Cinema and an on-campus class visit.

Fall 2019
  • Andrew Epstein, Ph.D., (Florida State University), speaking on the poet John Ashbery (as well as conducting a graduate seminar).
  • Carl Stone, renowned electronic composer and musician (Los Angeles Tokyo). An evening concert of new music.

Fall 2018
  • Ange Mlinko, poet and literary critic, (University of Florida), a public reading (as well as meeting with  UNF undergraduate poetry students).
  • Kevin Drumm, composer and musician (Chicago).  A concert of new music.

Fall 2017
  • Andrew Lee (Denver, CO); two separate evening concerts, as well as a seminar/workhshop with UNF piano students.
  • Julia Jarcho, Ph,D., (New York University), an evening lecture on modern theater and a class visit.

Spring 2017
  • A performance of Erik Satie's Vexations, a 21-hour uninterrupted concert, using 28 pianist from UNF and the surrounding community.
  • Tim Albro (Jacksonville), art installation at UNF.
  • Mark Creegan (Jacksonville), a durational performance art event at UNF.

Fall 2016
  • Eric De Luca (Reykjavík, Iceland), a sound art installation and a class visit and lecture presentation.
  • Jaap Blonk (Arnhem, The Netherlands), a sound art installation and a class visit and lecture presentation on Dada.
  • Jed Rasula, Ph.D., (University of Georgia), an evening public lecture on Dada, and a class visit and lecture on the same topic.

Spring 2016​
  • William Baskinski (Los Angeles, CA) An evening concert of contemporary electronic music.

Fall 2015
  • Tatsuya Nakatani (Osaka, Japan) and Michel Doneda (Paris, France). An evening of percussion and saxophone improvisations.
  • Jaap Blonk (Arnhem, The Netherlands), in a performance of Antonin Artaud's "To Be Done With the Judgement of God."

Fall 2014
  • Rae Armantrout, Pulitzer Prize-Winning Poet, (University of San Diego), giving a public reading (as well as meeting with  UNF undergraduate poetry students).
  • Marta Werner, Ph.D., (Loyola University), an evening public lecture on Emily Dickinson, and a class visit and lecture on the poet.​
